Transcending The Darkness

Transcending The Darkness

There is something to be said about honouring the energy of each season. When we don’t we can feel a hell of a lot more suffering.

Winter is a time to rest, heal, feel the depths of our soul, let go, dream, manifest, visualize, be in nature, enjoy, find stillness often, go slow, rest…

In doing these sometimes really hard, uncomfortable things… we can feel grounded in the wisdom that has been remembered… as we transcend the darkness into the light of spring.

From this grounded place we can have the capacity that helps immensely when it comes to putting action steps towards our missions, visions, and creations in the next coming months.

A question that has recently kept me accountable and motivated to heal is: what do I want to be known for?

IIA’s 2023 Spring Newsletter

If you have been following our journey, thank you… it has been so nice to have you. Your energy and essence keeps us accountable and inspired.

What a transformational season of resting and reseting. I sometimes don’t realize until mid winter, how flipping tired I am. Which usually comes with a couple necessary burn outs to keep me humbled.

It does gives me a gauge as to where I am at though. Back in the day I would have never even let myself feel tired. I didn’t ever stop long enough to consider it (conditioning). Building awareness and integration takes time. We cannot rush the process.

Needless to say, The Roche family is rested and re-centred. We have lots of projects and creations in mind for the near future and look forward to sharing our sacredness with anyone who it resonates with.

our family and health

Finn and I are changing on a consistent basis. Is it comfortable? No. But the more we challenge ourselves the more we are supported. We are living proof of that abundance.

The past 6 months have been spent detoxing my body of the last 10% of seizure medication I have been taking for the past 18 years. The darkness has been dark… and I know what I shed, our children shed. I am so grateful for the support of this family I chose. They are warriors for choosing me as their partner and mother.

And equally, we have been divinely supported during the process and have even had many moments of enjoyment. We are so grateful for our new health and wellness family goddess who has been holding the space like a champ for our family. She is magic.

world learning

Homeschooling has turned into… unschooling… which has turned into just world schooling really… if we have to label it.

I am absolutely amazed at the resources/experiences we have been able to find and offer the girls. It’s authentic, diverse, real and natural. Every time we drop our expectations a bit lower, Rosemary and Lavender lead us somewhere deeper and more meaningful.

We also have been spending our extra time as a family visiting different homeschoolers over Cape Breton Island. This movement is big and it has incredible momentum behind it.

We have met some truly, earthy, authentic, real, resourceful, creative, abundant, natural beautiful families and are very inspired to continue co-creating with this special community.

camps

Unfortunately Finn and I will not be running swim lessons and summer camp this coming season. We have a special wedding to be at in Ontario, so we will be spending some of the summer weeks there.

That’s not to say we may not have a Pop UP Day Camp at some point, here or there. We will keep you posted.

Finn and I are really looking forward to hosting a camp experience with our Unamaki Homeschooling Group in Baddeck once a month come April. We will be running programs for the kids (integrating people’s super powers) and providing supports for parents.

future creations and visions

Finn and I are eager to prep our land and continue developing our property. We have some big visions moving forward and we know that what we put our attention towards will grow. And having other structures that visitors can utilize while we run our programs is a high priority for us in the next 3-5 years.

Finn’s been working away at the shed… which is now being transformed into our first cabin. Our plan is to move it… yes… movie it… to the North East corner of the property in order to have extra space for an office/bunkie. We are looking forward to creating simple, beautiful stations where our visitors can find stillness. We look forward to attracting people who are curious about healing, nature, living intentionally, more simply, self-reliant.

We are also looking forward to hopefully getting our new 700 foot driveway put in next door. When we bought this house, it came with a strip of land that starts at the Cabot Trail and ends at the back of our lake. Our plan is to build there in the next few years. We are in the beginning stages of designing and manifesting.

But once we have access to that piece of land by car, we will be able to continue creating more spaces for our visitors.

coaching clients

It has been such a magnificent opportunity working with other curious beings who want more for their lives. Regardless of their story, they are showing up, doing the work and seeing the results of shedding past patterns that no longer serve them.

I am so grateful to feel inspired to hold the space for those who want to heal and fully step into their worth and abundance.

The clients I attract are equally significant in my own healing journey as they too are teachers guiding me to continue stepping outside my comfort zone towards my destiny.

Come April I will be opening my availability to allow for two more clients. I am attracting individuals who feel curious and/or inspired to shift into a new way of living, breathing and being. This service is recommended for individuals who have tried many healing methods and are feeling as though they are “missing something”.

If this opportunity resonates with someone you know, feel free to share our contact and/or have them book an Exploratory Session to see if we would be a good fit.

How do we create change from a place of inspiration rather than desperation?

How do we create change from a place of inspiration rather than desperation?

Honouring the season of winter. As we inch ourselves into the winter cycle we are being asked to slow down long enough to reflect on the things that are working in our lives and the areas where we can make changes that support us in living from our hearts, in true alignment.

It’s a magical time of year to embrace stillness and let go of patterns, habits, and/or beliefs that are no longer serving us, stepping into our worth and finding a balance between listening to our hearts and putting realistic action steps in place to support what our hearts desire.

Knowing how we want to feel is a good place to start exploring. This often leads to having more clarity of what magic we would like to bring to fruition in our lives.

Appreciating how far we have come

For many years, I participated in the “work hard play later” lifestyle motto. I vividly remember this poster hanging in my grade 6 homeroom classroom, leaving it to our young impressionable hearts to digest these strong messages all on our own. This idea that we had to do one before the other, like we weren’t worthy of playing UNLESS we worked hard was also modelled to many of us through our parent’s journey while growing up.

I wholeheartedly believe that during these times, many generations were dissolving their own generational patterns, which served them in evolving and creating beautiful lives for themselves and for their offspring.

But what we tend to forget to remember is how evolution has changed over time. For a long time, we were in a time of space where the universal yang energy was present and strong. Working (yang) hard was socially acceptable and playing (yin) freely was irrelevant.

However, as we evolve and grow in love and wisdom we are reminded that we all have both yang and yin energy within us in order to help us create harmonious changes within our lives.

So as we are being given the space and time to remember and harness our yin energy, we are finding that we are able to dissolve the illusions we have created in our past and from the outer world… and open ourselves to the desires of our hearts.

When we move from a place of action (yang), before we slow down and listen (yin) we don’t really know if the change we are initiating comes from a place of heart or unconscious state of mind.

As we now move into a world that is waking up to remembering that each living being has both male and feminine energy within us, we are being encouraged into a new flow, a new way.

We are being encouraged to get in touch with our yin energy, bringing the yang and yin back to a place of balance, so we can maximize our life’s potential, purpose and destiny.

One way will not be sustainable all on its own. If we continue to ONLY push and force, or if we ONLY listen but never act on our desires, we will be met with resistance until we learn how to embrace AND integrate both the masculine and feminine energies into our everyday life.

We need both to live from a place of inspiration.

Integrating change

It is human nature to shift from one place to another place and not realize that many times these actions are driven by a place of conditioning and pre-set expectations from our past, or the mind.

When we are acting from a place of conditioning we are trapped in this paradox of choosing because we “have to” or “should” or “need to”, which encourages us to continue running away from the problem at hand or running towards something that is more pleasurable.

When we are able to heal the illusions that our souls have divinely chosen to help us survive in this wild world, we are then able to give ourselves permission to free ourselves from these limitations and choose from a more heart centred place.

We are able to listen to our heart’s aspirations and then put realistic action steps in place to support our desires.

Some Loving Tips:

Create change from a place of gratitude

When we want to make a change, ONLY do so when we have full gratitude for the challenge that we have attracted. Otherwise nothing new has been learned. This will cause us to attract the same challenge in the new situation, instead of dissolving the past illusion and choosing a new challenge that will be more aligned with your highest values.

Love is BOTH challenge and support

Understanding that love is both challenge and support is key. We will never have one without the other. We need both to be in perfect balance.  Once we can see the light and dark in every moment, experience, and/or situation, we are able to understand that we are not the victims and instead the creators of our own experience.

LISTEN

Listen to our heart. Our heart wants us to know two things: that we are worthy of love and to admit our dreams and aspirations. If we cannot hear the whispers of our hearts then we continue to choose from a cerebral place, which will continue to keep us stuck in old patterns and belief systems. Take time to get clear on what you want. Without knowing what you want, then we are just attracting the same random experiences that can feel like a burden.

ACT

Acting is a very important part of the process in creating the life we want. But if we continue to act without any intention we can find ourselves attracting challenges that we have no control over. If we are having a hard time acting and are met with resistance and challenge then know we may be holding onto old stories that are keeping us stuck. Finding someone we can trust that can help dissolve these old stories that can many times keep us stuck is always helpful along the way.

How We Can Make Space For Self Love And Creativity

How We Can Make Space For Self Love And Creativity

Learning how to integrate BALANCE into our lives is the key, for us.

This word came to us 12 years ago, after Finn and I decided to take a break from the reno’s we courageously took on after purchasing our first home together, without much experience. It was a humongous learning curve and very valuable wisdom was gained through the whole experience, but our souls needed time to rest and heal from the madness.

There is a hill on the Trans Canada, right as you come into New Brunswick, where the world literally OPENS up. Can you visualize it? This is when the word BALANCE came through to us.

What did it truly mean to integrate balance into the life we were creating together?

Pushing… forcing… establishing… working… was exhausting and it didn’t leave much time to explore and wonder.

We wanted to feel relaxed, creative, inspired, and self-loved.

Needless to say, we ended up coming home from that trip, with a second house. Another project. Another sacrifice. 🤪

Looking forward to today, Finn and I have more wisdom than we did, since this idea of balance came to our awareness.  It takes time to unravel old patterns and then integrate new ways into your life. Life is a journey. And it’s a process.

Knowing what we know now, there is a listening that needs to be equally integrated into our lives as are the action steps we take.

The more we consciously make time to listen to our heart… the more we can hear… and the more guidance we have. Giving us the confidence in the action steps we intentionally choose to make.

The more we learn how to open our hearts and love ourselves, the more we are able to create.

For the past few years we have been consciously learning how to create from a place of stillness first, before taking action.

We still find ourselves falling into acting first and being impulsive. It takes sometimes years to unravel patterns that are so innately, environmentally, embedded into our cells.

Not to mention the simple fact that… life is busy.

It takes a conscious choice to change things in our life that are not going to be easy. It takes time to let go of expectations we place on ourselves and the ones others put on us. To simplify our life so we can have the capacity to show up in different areas of our lives.

Being okay taking the time to rest… and often, sometimes several times a day… in between our action steps allows us to create from a place of clarity and abundance.

Seasonally, we are flowing into a space where our souls are preparing to unwind and rest from the active energy summer brings. A time when we harvest all the beauty we created and show gratitude for the gifts and talents we have shared with the world. A space where we prepare to go inwards to reflect, find stillness and see where we are being guided next.

Taking this time to slow down and rest can sometimes bring many feelings of restlessness to the surface, as our bodies adjust to a new rhythm, especially with the shorter days. These feelings continue to motivate us to heal, grow and flourish within our practice. However, by allowing ourselves to surrender to the discomfort and become still, the more we are able to love our authentic selves and create an abundance of magic!

Practical tools we can integrate to nourish our ability to feel create and self loved:

Use Our Time Wisely

There is a balance in structuring every moment of our time and making space to be spontaneous. However, without holding ourselves accountable for our time, we risk giving our time away and/or something taking the space that we haven’t accounted for.

What are our highest values? How do we spending our precious time? Do these things light us up? Making space for things that we love help us feel whole and complete.

Know Our BIG Why

What motivates us to get up every day? What legacy do we want to leave behind when we transition? How do we want to make the world a better place?

When we have a why that is BIG enough it helps us get through the rough days. It’s not easy living from our hearts. It comes with healing  generational cycles and embracing a shit ton of change. When we can see the bigger picture… it keeps us focused on the bigger picture as opposed to the “problem” in front of us.

Implement Healthy Boundaries

How often do we say no thank you? Or maybe we have already structured our life where we are honouring our needs most of the time? People pleasers are self haters (this was me in a nutshell for many years) so it is vital to put healthy boundaries in place for ourselves, our children, partners and extended families so we have the capacity to create and love from a place of inspiration.

Scan Our Environment

If our surroundings don’t support us growing, then we can remain stuck. When we can be honest and surrender to our hearts desires, the universe will completely support us. What can we change in our lives that will support us to challenge ourselves?

The Blank Canvas

Finn Roche with Kids on beach

The Blank Canvas

No one can prepare us for the unique space that presents itself (and what to even do with it), after any kind of change. There is no manual for how to live from our heart and it can feel very uncertain and unfamiliar.

Although this unknown space can feel scary, it is equally freeing… this is where the magic to create lies.

Finn and I call it, Our Blank Canvas.

After the big move, Finn and I took the entire fall and winter months, sitting in the discomfort of the unknown. Sifting through the pain body that surfaced as we adjusted and adapted to this new idea of a Blank Canvas.

We consciously knew we had intentionally initiated big changes, but didn’t know exactly what it would look like. Without relying on the systems and structures we had contributed to for so long, we quickly realized that we would now have to create these systems for ourselves.

This made us feel very overwhelmed in many moments.

How do we choose what to put our attention to (and when), when we already feel we have so many other hats that we are wearing!?!

Needless to say, over several months of divine waiting and observing, Finn and I gained some clarity. This gave us the confidence to start reflecting, manifesting, and vision boarding to ensure our intentions were loud and clear.

Only then could we began the process of organizing and implementing the several baby action steps towards our goals.

When we are divinely waiting can feel confusing, frustrating, and/or uncomfortable as we want to know what the future holds, or what our purpose is, and if we are on the right track… in that exact moment.

However, this moment in time is a critical part of our growth and healing process. It creates spaces to feel, heal, explore, venture, enjoy, rest, discover, reflect, process, slow down. And then, when the timing is right, clarity comes; always arriving when we are ready.

So here we are today, in the next phase of our action steps… getting the property ready for our 9 Week Summer Day Camp Program, including Swimmer 1 Swimming Lessons.  Putting in driveways, swing sets, renovating sheds into cabins, and gardens to prepare our sacred land for our Campers next week.

To reflect back to all the action steps that were required to get this magnificent opportunity up and running makes our hearts sing.

We are so grateful for listening to our heart’s aspirations and putting them into action! And equally grateful knowing we get to share our services and love with the community.
